FY 2016 Goal Update: February Progress

FY 2016 Goal Update February Progress _ AnythingYouWantBlog.com

I am happy to report that I have a more positive net worth update this month! Overall, my net worth is up by 4% this month, for a total increase of 43% so far this fiscal year. I am especially glad that my net worth increased this month since I feel like I wasn’t able to contribute as much to my investment account as I would have liked to. This was mostly due to purchasing a plane ticket for summer travel (hello 2016 Olympics!), which was a planned expense.

In other good news, my tax refunds (state and federal) are both pending, so it’s looking like March will be another winner! I’m planning to put 95% of my refunds  into my non-retirement investment account, since that is the only area in which I haven’t yet met my goal for the year. I think it will be a stretch to get there by the end of June, but I’ll keep trying!

How’d you do in February? What are you planning to do with your tax refund?

  1. Well done on the increase! I’m down this month… combination of spending and poor markets… You are only 3% off of your target with 3 months to go… 1% per month and you’ll totally hit your target!

    • Thanks! You’re right – I hardly even realized how close I am to my overall goal, but i’m right there!

It is frustrating to have a down month, but I am usually able to channel that frustration into a better-than-usual spending month the next month. Good luck to you!
